About Us
From scientific beginnings...
Dutch Monks is a band that was quite literally born in the laboratory. Both working in the same medical research institute, Jesse and Teresa met in the lab before going on to write and record music together. This follows on from Dutch Monks more ancient scientific origins, where founding pianist Thijs Flinsenberg began the collaboration with Jesse whilst working together, going on to record their debut album 'Yours To Lend'. Dutch Monks are now back with a newly evolved form, and a 5 track Studio EP that showcases this bright new connection.
Guitar/Vocals - Jesse Rudd-Schmidt
Jesse grew up in Victoria/Australia and was inspired by a combination of the classical guitar his Dad played, the pop radio his Mum would always sing along to and the punk music his friends lived their lives to.
Piano/Keys/Backing Vocals - Teresa Sadras
Just as at home playing a classical piano line or a pop synth line, Teresa's entrance to Dutch Monks has brought with it an injection of life and energy.
